PSC welcomes its new Power Networks General Manager for the APAC region, Roderick Kisten. Formerly Group Manager of Transmission and Distribution at Jacobs, Roderick has an excellent understanding of the challenges facing the sector and our clients in APAC. He will be working to broaden our services and increase our capacity to meet continuing strong demand for connection studies and due diligence.

PSC is pleased to welcome Roderick Kisten to the APAC team as our new Power Networks General Manager. Roderick comes to us from Jacobs where he was the Group Manager for Transmission and Distribution. He has over 15 years of experience in the power sector, with his main areas of expertise being project/study management, sub-transmission design and network planning and analysis.  He has been involved in many renewables projects including wind and solar for various clients throughout Australia. Through these projects Roderick has delivered feasibility studies, grid connection studies, connection application and agreements, connection support as well as concept designs for the transmission and distribution component of projects. He has also been involved in various due diligence projects related to wind and solar developments on both the buyer and vendor side, and worked with multiple utilities across Australia addressing aged asset, augmentation and reliability projects.

Roderick has been involved in several projects for utilities and transmission and distribution lines in South Africa. This included concept design through to detailed design, project costing, project/construction management and client handover. He has also worked on a number of oil and gas projects, managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects from concept through to feasibility. This has included power solution option analysis, grid connection studies, connection inquiry and connection and access applications, corridor selection studies, CAPEX and OPEX estimation and introduction of hybrid type power solutions to address schedule constraints.

Through his previous experience, Roderick brings a strong understanding of the issues facing our clients during the ongoing energy transition in Asia Pacific, especially in Australia. He sees himself as a problem solver in creating stable and reliable power networks as the region rapidly increases its penetration of renewable generation and storage. This gels well with PSC’s existing experience and the work we do for our clients. One of his first tasks will be to further develop the studies team so we have additional capacity to meet our clients’ needs for connection studies and due diligence.
