PSC CEO to Deliver DPSP 2020 Keynote Speech
March 3, 2020

Having operated in the UK since 2013 and around the world since 1995, PSC is proud to support and participate in the 15th International Conference on Developments in Power System Protection, March 9-12, 2020, in Liverpool, UK.

The electric utility industry is grappling with change on many fronts – from technology advances to clean energy initiatives – and we can all agree the system is becoming more and more complex. Even so, the underlying physics of generating and transmitting electricity and the overall mission of delivering reliable, secure service hasn’t changed.  So, how do we balance delivering on our steadfast mission with the challenges and trends we’re experiencing in our industry?

That’s exactly what PSC Group CEO, Alex Boyd will address in the opening keynote speech at the 15th International Conference on Developments in Power System Protection (DPSP) on March 10 in Liverpool, UK. Alex will revisit the electricity industry’s mission, its history in innovation, the challenges and trends impacting us all, and how we can help balance the scales with the right mix of collaboration, a mindset to embrace change, and making space for innovation to ensure our shared mission is met.

This from the DPSP 2020 Chairperson, PSC’s own Richard Adams: “These challenging and exciting times may call for new protection techniques and ways of thought and we may not know or have foreseen all of the problems yet. Our community, from academia to suppliers, consultants, and utilities/owners, must work together and share experiences to bring about the visions of the future reliably and safely. The DPSP conference is a great opportunity to explore and share challenges, thoughts, and solutions, through the formal conference presentations and more informally throughout the numerous networking opportunities during the event.”

The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) organizes this event every other year. The 2018 conference in Belfast hosted more than 340 delegates from over 30 countries, with papers drawn from more than 240 submitted abstracts, alongside a technical exhibition.

PSC is proud to support and participate in DPSP 2020. We look forward to engaging with many colleagues, clients, and industry professionals there as we continue to build momentum and strengthen our dialogue around solving some of our industry’s most complex problems together.
