Key insights after attending GE Vernona Orchestrate 2025
July 3, 2025

PSC was represented by the following experts from our North America team: Rick Hudella, Rob Fairchild, Anil Jampala, and Mihaela Ciulei. If you’re exploring system upgrades, retiring legacy assets, or planning for long-term grid modernization, let PSC help! We are happy to share what we’re seeing across the market and discuss how your organization can stay ahead.

While PSC is vendor-neutral, many of our clients operate GE systems, and to ensure that our team stays informed and ready to support you across all stages of your system lifecycle, we attend and support events such as GE Vernova Orchestrate 2025.

A Shifting Grid Landscape: What we heard

The event made one thing clear, utilities are under increasing pressure to evolve their systems, enhance grid flexibility, and integrate new energy resources efficiently. Whether it’s adapting to DER growth, improving situational awareness, or responding to market demands for faster, data-driven decisions, the transformation of the grid is accelerating.

Here are just a few of the insights the team gleaned from the event:

  • GE GridOS is key to bridging the longstanding gap between OT and IT.  GE Vernova’s new ‘Partner Program’ enables SI’s and ISV’s to become GridOS subject matter experts so as to assist our clients to migrate to the latest grid platform.  GridOS development kits are being provided to partners, as system integrators, so we can develop prototypes allowing us to go from an idea to proof of concept for our clients.  This is a welcome development which enables us to access the upcoming migration to IT/OT integration.
  • Big news that was announced included the extension of the life cycle of existing ‘Legacy’ EMS and DMS software. GE stated directly that their ‘Heritage’ EMS/DMS products are core, and they have at least another 10 years of support – a relief to many.
  • New technologies offer new opportunities and some challenges, as witnessed by the early adopters. PSC is gearing up to help utilities to mitigate the challenges of migration. PSC is also keen to help utilities in “Evergreen Testing” process, leveraging its expert resources.
