PSC was a proud silver sponsor of GE Digital’s annual user conference held in Bellevue, WA June 6-9. After three years, this customer-focused event was back in person and was a great success with lots of relevant information shared. This was my first time at the conference and a great opportunity to soak up a lot of material and network with GE Digital’s clients and partners.
The conference started on a high note with industry experts discussing success stories of grid innovation, award-winning projects, and roadmaps for GE’s control room software solutions. We heard a lot about what’s happened in the energy transition and future trends expected to be experienced in our industry.
As the evolving distribution network is becoming more dynamic, the need for mission-critical software to support utilities’ ultimate purpose of keeping the lights on is more and more obvious. That said, GE’s ADMS was a hot conversation among many of the attendees. A product cycle for ADMS upgrades for better operational efficiency was suggested which included a new asset management platform that integrates GIS, Lidar, 3D & 2D visuals, and reports to provide a reliable supply of electricity were demonstrated.
Following its launch at Distributech last month, Opus One (a GE Digital company) gave an overview of its new Distributed Energy Resources Management (DERMS) software called Opus One DERMS. This modular platform has been designed to enable grid operators to connect, see, control, and optimize DERs, and help utilities provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy to customers.
All in all, GE Digital’s Orchestrate Americas Conference was a perfectly organized event to build great connections on our journey toward a more sustainable world.
