A look back on a virtual ENIC

PSC’s mission is to deliver expertise and solutions to utilities and energy companies worldwide, empowering them to innovate and thrive in a rapidly changing industry. Therefore, we were pleased to contribute to the innovation taking place across the UK electricity and gas industry through the Energy Networks Innovation Conference held virtually December 8-9, 2020.  The PSC team hosted an exhibitor stand where we discussed our range of services and innovation projects in the UK and around the world.

A large focus at this year’s event (previously known as the Low Carbon Networks & Innovation Conference) revolved around the expected uptake in electric vehicles and how this will impact the electricity networks at various levels. There were also many presentations related to the role of hydrogen in the energy system transition. We had some excellent interactive discussions around these topics and more about how our power networks and engineering capability can address these exciting trends.

PSC’s Dr. David Mills who led PSC’s participation said this, “The conference was a little different this year with it taking place virtually and that meant missing out on some of the wider interaction that is possible at an in-person environment. However, the virtual arrangement did allow engagement across a wide geographical spread and it was interesting to discuss the challenges and approaches being considered in lots of different countries. There is still a lot of development needed to achieve net-zero by 2050 and I am pleased that PSC is actively involved in supporting the networks to overcome the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities along the way.”

ENIC was PSC’s first foray into hosting a virtual exhibit. The platform was easy to use and well supported by the organizers allowing us to ‘chat’ with many interested in discussing initial project ideas and our potential solutions.

If you missed this event or were not able to stop by our stand, we’d still love to speak to you about your upcoming projects.
