As the global energy landscape rapidly evolves, there’s an increasing demand for adaptable, visionary leadership to navigate the industry’s dynamic nature. PSC’s UK team is meeting this demand by adding new talent to its leadership pool. I’m proud to announce that we recently hired Seamus Kennedy as General Manager (GM) of Europe/UK’s Power Network and HVDC teams.
Seamus and I met about 14 years ago while working on the National Grid’s Electricity Alliance (South West), a joint venture between National Grid, Morrison Utility Services, Jacobs, and Mitsubishi Electric Europe. Seamus was a project engineer with Morrison Utility Services, and I was National Grid’s project manager.
We enjoyed working together, and I noticed then that Seamus had excellent technical skills and demonstrated leadership qualities. At the time, we both thought it would be great to work together in the future, so I’m delighted our paths crossed again and Seamus agreed to join PSC UK as our GM of Power Networks and HVDC.
“I’m excited to be a member of the PSC team; things have come full circle from my first introduction to Tim in 2009. Our work together planted the seed that informed my decision to join PSC. I was also drawn to how PSC invests in its culture and people by encouraging personal and professional development not just in the business needs, but also in areas where people’s interests lie.”
Seamus brings over 15 years of project management experience in the transmission and renewables sectors, holding roles from a technical specialist (expert application) to a project director (leadership). Seamus will be able to apply his renewable generation know-how from his experience in onshore and offshore wind. Most recently, he managed a large offshore wind project in Taiwan for Siemens Gamesa. Before that, he worked with Siemens Wind Power as a project manager for onshore wind projects, a project engineer at Morrison Utility Services and at and Mitsubishi Electric Europe, developing mechanical engineering design skills for substation projects.
Seamus has a MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester and received his Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology from the University of East London. He is currently working on his MBA while participating in a “camp leaders” through one of the world’s largest and widely recognized executive coaching organizations.
Seamus is a great addition to our PSC UK team, bringing leadership and project management skills along with his strong background in renewable generation projects. As GM, he’ll have the opportunity to put his unique skill set to work building and inspiring our team focused on renewables.
PSC has exciting career opportunities in Europe, the UK and beyond. Please visit our Careers page and contact us if you’d like to talk about joining our team as we help our clients power a more sustainable world.
