The Account Manager/Principal Consultant for Energy Management Systems (EMS) will primarily be focused on system integration, maintenance, migration and enhancement of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) / EMS / DMS / Market system applications for clients.  The Principal Consultant role also spans project management, best practices consulting, as well as staff management functions. They will work with clients to understand and identify their functional needs and what application modifications and/or developments are necessary. The SCADA/ EMS/ DMS/ Markets domain is highly specialized and demands knowledge in electric power generation, advanced power grid estimation and optimization methods, as well as the critical data acquisition technologies utilized.  

Please note: our offices are in Kirkland, WA while our clients are all over. This role can be based throughout the US and/or Canada.


  • Advise clients on strategic direction as it relates to their SCADA / EMS / DMS / Markets system lifecycle / plans
  • Develop methodologies, resource plans, and time estimates
  • Support the Business Unit Manager in business development activities by presenting PSC capabilities to prospective clients.
  • Prepare proposals for new work
  • Manage deliverables and hours for individual and team projects
  • Develop and deliver presentations to clients
  • Prepare and review detailed technical reports
  • Develop key application/function design and operation
  • Mentor, coach and develop junior engineers/consultants
  • Manage client expectations through regular communications and responsiveness
  • Assist the Business Unit Director with resource planning and management
  • Provide project integration and support for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of Energy Management System
  • Oversee and/or participate in the development of scripts to help in areas such as data conversion, system configuration, system operation, and testing.
  • Oversee and/or participate in database modeling for new and existing systems
  • Oversee and/or participate in display editing for new and existing systems
  • Oversee and/or participate in structured and unstructured testing of systems which includes providing feedback of testing results to clients and vendors.
  • Problem resolution including performing root cause analysis and interacting with customer and application vendor engineers
  • Improvement of system operation and maintenance documentation based on continuous reviews


  • Bachelor’s degree in Power Systems Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of SCADA/EMS experience
  • Prior people management experience including involvement in the evaluating, recruiting and hiring of team members.
  • Strong working experience with EMS vendor systems (GE, Siemens, ABB, Schneider, OSI) and applications (Historians, Alarms, Mapboard, Load Shed, Outage Scheduler, Variable Line Rating, OAG, RTNET, VAST, PSSE)
  • Proficiency with EMS modeling tools (SCADA, Network, Generation), display building tools, and domains (SCADA, Generation, Network, Dispatcher Training Simulator)
  • Proficiency with modern programming and scripting language
  • Experience with SQL based RDBMS databases
  • Excellent computer skills, including: Windows server, Windows desktops, and Linux
  • Proficiency with virtualization
  • Proficiency with OSI solutions
  • Experience with Factory or Site Acceptance Testing
  • Experience with Point to point testing
  • Experience integrating complex software systems
  • Expertise with Distributed Energy Resources / DERMS
  • Performing or creating training programs and mentoring junior level team members
  • Proficiency with server hardware
  • Proficiency with IPv4 networking

  •  Ability to travel extensively throughout North America (and globally as needed), occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 lbs
  • Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily required to sit or stand at a work station while operating a computer, phone, and other office equipment. The employee is required to communicate: speak, write, type and hear
